Catching Up

Well, I haven't blogged in a really long time.

The trip to CA was really eventful, we packed a lot of activities into 5 days. Like trying to pack a sock full of a sleeping bag. Or a suitcase full of one girl's clothes and three girls' toiletry supplies. Which we also tried.

It was great to see family. It's rare that all the closest members of my family are in the same building, let alone the same state. Being in my grandparents' house and talking with my great grandmother, who is 94, created this intense sense of nostalgia and actually brought me to tears. Sarah too. It's weird...we were looking at all these old pictures and then talking to the people who were in those pictures...and I could see the younger person inside of this person in front of me. It was eerie.

We also got to see a bunch of friends, which was SO NICE. But in a way it was pretty much a tease since it was for like, 3 hours. Sigh. I could've spent weeks down there.

San Diego was pretty awesome. I think friendly people follow the sun. There were like 3 instances we had with really nice strangers. Old Town San Diego was cool and had the best tortillas...strawberry and chocolate...oh man. And Little Italy had EXCELLENT food. The kissing statue was HUGE.

At the San Diego Zoo my mom insisted on buying me a 2nd pair of sunglasses because I had left my pair in the hotel room.
"Mom, I already have a pair."
"That's ok, you need a pair today."
"Hahaha watch me break them."
So I took a long time to pick out some good ones in one of the gift shops and wore them the whole day. Then I got back to the hotel room, dropped my room key, bent down to pick it up, watched as the glasses slid off my face, tripped, and stepped on the glasses and broke them.

Sigh.

The zoo was really cool though. We heard lions roar. That was amazing; the sound just resonates like nothing you could imagine.
The Greatest Rock Band Ever would figure out a way to plug a lion into an amp and just blast it as the opening to their concerts. People would go home deaf. It would be epic.

Saw the Star Trek movie today! Kyle brought his lightsaber XD we waved it around and got a lady to tell us, "No, that's the wrong movie..." hahaha. Then we explained how the entire Star Trek series was actually just an extension of Star Wars. Luke Skywalker is actually James T. Kirk and Spock, of course, is actually Chewbacca.

To Do: Learn the rules to Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock

I want to go to school and get int the middle of a huge crowd during passing period and have a coughing fit and then say (really loud), "Sorry man, this Swine Flu is just killing me" and see what happens.

Well, I have to get up early tomorrow once again. Don't forget to tell your mother happy her day tomorrow.
